Beth Dodge's stolen Pontiac Firebird on the main street of Colebrook, New Hampshire. Wilder lies dead, slumped across the drivers seat

State police sergeant Robert Loven removed a brown wallet fromthe deceased’s left rear pocket.
It contained a Florida driver’slicence issued to Christopher Bernard Wilder.
Inside the Firebird, police recovered colour photographs of naked women, receipts, an address book, a large knife and forty-nine $100 bills. There was also a marked-up copy of The Collector.
It was 4 p.m. when the crime scene photographs had been taken and the undertaker arrived to take Wilder’s body to the morgue.
